About
Farm Shassi LLC was established in 2018 and is a micro-farm dedicated to preserving the environment, selling farm-raised vegetables at the Owen County Farmer's Market, raising barnyard animals such as horses and cows and hosting weekend RV guests through Harvest Hosts. The farm can host 1 and possibly 2 RVs. Electricity, water and extended stays can be provided for a fee. The farm has a 72' long barn with 3 horse stalls for rent if traveling with horses. Horses can be turned out in one of the farm's 5 pastures. The farm has a horse riding ring and miles of riding trails around the pastures and in the forest. The walking trail around the farm takes you to u-pick flowers, blackberries, apples and pumpkins. A large petting zoo is located near the barn where guests can interact with our horses, cows, miniature donkeys, goats, chickens and ducks. Hay rides and the seasonal pumpkin patch can be reserved for a fee. The farm is 8 miles from the downtown square in Bloomington and Indiana University and a short Uber ride. Our 40-acre farm has 20 acres that have been classified as an Indiana Forest to help maintain hardwood forest for the State of Indiana. From 2018-2021 Farm Shassi raised AKC Labradors, Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese puppies and the now retired parents can be seen enjoying the farm.
